Troubleshooting of milling machine:
There will be some faults when the milling machine is used for a long time. In order to continue to use, we must solve these faults. Please refer to our troubleshooting below.
- The milling machine cannot be started normally, and the milling machine suddenly fails to operate normally, which is basically caused by the fault of the milling machine circuit. Several aspects need to be checked.
(1) Check whether the main power supply is overloaded. If the overload protection will cause tripping, the milling machine cannot run without power supply.
(2) Check whether the power line of the milling machine falls off, or one of the lines falls off.
(3) Check whether the main electric control box of the milling machine has a safety device. If the safety device is on or trips, it needs to be replaced. If there is overload protection tripping in the electric box, you can restart and try.
(4) Check whether the contactor and main transformer of the electric control box of the milling machine are burnt out and whether the starting switch is damaged.
(5) Check whether the digital display of milling machine, water pump, Walker and workbench operate normally
(6) Check whether the main motor of the milling machine is abnormal and damaged
- The tool joint on the machining surface is uneven, so it is necessary to check the parallelism of the worktable, the parallelism of the main axis relative to the worktable, and the verticality of the lifting table relative to the worktable.
- Spindle gearbox failure
(1) The operating handle falls off automatically, generally because the spring in the handle is loose. If the spring needs to be replaced or a gasket is added at the end of the spring, the spring can also be elongated.
(2) If the operating handle cannot run, first check the vertical connecting value shaft and positioning seizing, the second step is to check the sector gear and rack seizing, the third part is to check the bending of the fork shaft or the seizing of the positioning hole, and finally check that the position of the hole on the peripheral end of the rack and the orifice plate transmission plate is incorrect. After inspection, remove the connecting rod shaft and polish the burrs. Adjust the clearance between sector gear and rack. Straighten and polish the fork shaft. First change another speed, turn the speed to the accurate tailstock matched with the rack shaft, and then adjust the spring of the star wheel positioner to make its positioning reliable.
(3) The variable speed gear is not easy to mesh or there is a striking sound fault, which may be due to the instantaneous contact relay circuit fault or contact failure of the host. The clutch needs to be readjusted to disengage the friction plate with a clearance of no less than 2-3mm.
- The machining accuracy is abnormal and the diagnosis is difficult, which may be due to the following reasons
(1) Milling machine feed unit changed or changed
(2) The zero offset of each axis of the milling machine is abnormal
(3) Abnormal axial reverse clearance
(4) Abnormal motor operation, abnormal electrical and control parts
(5) Mechanical failure, such as failure of lead screw, bearing, coupling and other components.
(6) Machining programming, tool selection and human factors will also lead to abnormal machining accuracy of milling machine.
- The milling vibration of the milling machine is very large
(1) If the spindle is loose, the clearance of the spindle bearing can be readjusted or the bearing can be replaced
(2) If the workbench is loose, it is necessary to readjust the clearance of the guide rail, scrape or replace with a new insert
(3) The clearance between the lead screw and nut of the workbench is large, so the clearance can be adjusted again. Tighten the relative position between the fastening screw and the fastening worm and the adjustable nut
(4) The taper of the milling cutter head does not coincide with the taper hole or is not tightened. Please repair the taper or tighten the milling cutter head.
(5) The main motor has large vibration and needs to balance the motor rotor
(6) The noise of the main drive gear is high, and the inappropriate gear shall be detected and replaced.
- The longitudinal worktable has different tightness when shaking by hand
(1) Check whether the table lead screw is bent or partially worn, which needs to be straightened, repaired or replaced.
(2) The axis of the lead screw is not parallel to the longitudinal guide rail, so it is necessary to reinstall the lead screw and ream the locating pin hole.
- The worktable cannot be disengaged due to rapid feeding. The fault reason is that the residual magnetism of the electromagnet is too large or the elastic force of the slow return spring is insufficient. It needs to be repaired and adjusted by electricians and mechanics.
In a word, when the milling machine breaks down, first eliminate the causes by yourself, and then find professional maintenance personnel for maintenance.
