Difference between vertical milling machine and horizontal milling machine:
Milling machine is a best selling kind of metal machine tool. In our daily life, we often see some kinds of metal parts or larger metal molds. Their shapes are various, so we need to use milling machines to process them. The main function of milling machine is to process various surfaces of metal workpiece with milling cutter. Usually, the milling cutter will rotate, which is the main motion of the milling machine, and the movement of the workpiece and milling cutter is the feed motion. The milling machine has a wide range of processes, which can process planes: horizontal plane, vertical plane, groove (T-shaped groove, keyway, dovetail groove), spiral surface (thread, spiral groove, gear), etc.
The popular metal milling machines on the market generally include vertical milling machine, horizontal milling machine, universal milling machine, drilling and milling machine, turret milling machine, gantry milling machine and so on. Many users do not understand the difference between vertical milling machine and horizontal milling machine. - Different main functions
Vertical milling machine is suitable for processing planes, grooves, slopes and holes of various metal parts. It is an ideal processing equipment for die, instrument, instrument, automobile, motorcycle, machinery manufacturing and other industries.
The horizontal milling machine can be equipped with appropriate milling machine accessories to process metal parts with special shapes such as gears, cams, arc grooves and helical surfaces. - Different processing ranges
